Write a short story using all the vocabulary from this class.

bomb – a thing that will explode

lit – on fire

lighter N. – da huo ji,

eg: Do you have a lighter?

eg: Can you light (V.) this candle?

eg: The candle is already lit.

slang – li yu, tu hua, some words with special meaning

ass – pi gu

kiss someone’s ass – to say only good things about them

eg: He is always kissing the teacher’s ass. Pai ma pi

eg: I don’t kiss the teacher’s ass, but I flatter him a little.

flatter V. – to tell someone many good things about themself.

eg: If you like a person‘s style you can flatter her.

compliment N. V. – say a good thing about someone.

eg: Penny is a good student. I complimented penny for being a good student.

You look nice.

insult V. N. – V. to say something bad about someone N. a situation where someone thinks what you did was not good.

eg: You shouldn’t insult (V.) people you work with.

eg: That is an insult if they don’t ask you to join.

eg: If someone gives you food, it is an insult if you don’t eat it.

eg: It is an insult in Thailand, if you point your foot at someone. Thai people think it is a big insult.

eg: It’s an insult if you don’t hang out with your friends.
