it looks easier than it is = It looks easy, but it is hard

eg: Badminton looks easier than it is.(It LOOKS easy, It is HARD)

eg: Actually I hate badminton. Because I’m just too good at it. It’s a lot easier than it looks. (It IS easy. It is NOT hard)

(Be) into it – to like something, and usually do it

eg: Do you like World Cup Soccer?
No, I’m not really into it.

Yeah, I’m not into it either. It is a little boring. They don’t score a lot of points.

eg: I’m into badminton. I played a lot before.

shallow – not deep, can stand in this water.

eg: I don’t know how to dive, because there is no place I can do it. It’s too shallow at my pool.

eg: My friend did a no-hands dive into a shallow pool. He’s really not careful.

eg: Do not dive into a shallow pool. / Don’t do it, that pool is too shallow.

the trick /tricky – the secret way to do something easily and do it well

eg: Riding a bike with no hands is hard. But the trick is, you need to go fast.

eg: This door is a little tricky, you need push, then lift up, then open it.

eg: I’ll do it, my bag is tricky to open.

eg: Playing badminton is a little tricky. Sometimes it’s hard to hit because it’s so fast.

Learn how to play (Disc Golf/ Frisbee Golf)

Vocab:

Disc / Frisbee – a round flat piece of plastic that you throw

eg: I have never played disc golf.

Basket – made of metal bars, to hold things, and has chains on top.

eg: If you hit the chains it will probably go in the basket.

eg: Haha, not that way. The basket is your target, not the tree.

Hole – from start point, where you throw the disc, to End point, where you throw the disc in the basket

eg: I’m tried I played 18 holes of disc golf.

Course – all the parts of the disc golf game

eg: This is a normal course, it has 18 holes.

Drive. 1. drive a car. 2. in Golf, or Disc Golf. Drive = your first Throw for each hole. Should be very hard and very far.

eg: I’m not good at driving. When I throw it I always hit a tree.

Tips:

1. When you drive. Don’t throw it too hard. You will have a bad throw.

2. When you throw, point your finger or hand at your target.

3. Don’t throw it high. It will not go far.
