Write about why this is impressive (LilyL)
In a previous lesson, Mr Tony asked me to read a news about a black refugee ’s struggling story , which through his effort he finally elected as a mayor in America . Then, think about why this news is impressive.
Wilmot Collins, the first black mayor in the history of Helena, Montana, while he and his wife first time to flee to America, their house is gratified with “go back to Africaâ€. Although he was a refugee, discriminated by some of aggressive people, with his neighbors’ help , he finally settled down in Montana. Few time later , he lunched a campaign to help refugees to restart a new life in a new city, and built a refugee resettlement center to help those who are homeless because of civil war. After ran with a stale of municipal candidates, Wilmot put up with many bread-and-butter issues for election. Ultimately, he got great success.
After reading this story, some of aspects touched me much. first of all, American people try their best to help other country’s refugees heart and soul. It make me know that love is equal and without boundary, people should help each other with peace and love. Secondly, there is acceptance and tolerance in America. People don’t care racial and skin color ,they choose what they believe not matter the candidate from which country. Finally, Wilmot Collins repaid the society his love as he accepted love from his neighbors. It is a love story fulled of kindness and gratification.

In a previous lesson, Mr Tony asked me to read a news article about a black refugee’s  struggle who through his own efforts finally got elected as a mayor in America. Then, he told me to think about his story and conclude what’s so impressive about it.
Wilmot Collins, became  the first black mayor in the history of Helena, Montana. When him and his wife arrived to Helena, their house got covered in graffiti saying “go back to Africaâ€. Although he was a refugee, discriminated by some aggressive people, with his neighbors helped him  to  finally settle down in Montana. Couple years later, he launched a campaign to help other refugees to start a new life in a new city.  Also, he  built a Refugee Resettlement Center to help those who are homeless because of a war. Later he ran with a slate of municipal candidates, Wilmot put up with many bread-and-butter issues for elections. Ultimately, he achieved a great success.
After reading this story, some aspects touched me very much. First of all, American people try their best to help other country’s refugees, heart and soul. It makes me moved to know that love is equal and without boundaries, people should help each other with care and love. Secondly, there is acceptance and tolerance in America. People don’t care about race-skin color, they choose what they believe in and it doesn’t matter the candidate’s origin country. Finally, Wilmot Collins repaid the society with his love the same way he accepted love from his neighbors. It is a love story full of kindness and gratification.
