Vocabulary

A startup company will have a hard time recruiting new employees.

I couldn’t help but…   hearing you said you need a new sales person.

beat someone to it – to get there or do it first

eg: I beat them to it, I said it first.

gown – any fancy dress

eg: This was a very expensive gown, but she only wore it once.

regress – to go back in progress, reverse

eg: It’s always surprising to see someone of that skill level regress so quickly.

tuxedo – a fancy suit, for a wedding or very formal event

elaborate – overly complicated, made or done with great care or with much detail : having many parts that are carefully arranged or planned

eg: What an elaborate plan, but I don’t think it was necessary.
