F2F Class Notes October 23rd (Ben)

transitive = that requires an object 及物动词

intransitive = that doesn’t require one 不及物动词

The verb “like” is transitive. You must say “I like it”

The verb “run” is intransitive. You can say “I run”

Some verbs can be both, like “cram”

The people are cramming.

The metro pushers are cramming people.

neutral = 中立的

I am afraid this website is not neutral.

nitpick = to try find a problem, no matter how small. 求毛求此

I think this article is just trying trying to nitpick on an unimportant problem. This problem has nothing to do with Hillary.
