to scan / is to look for something quickly among many things

e.g. Lily was scanning the news to look for the latest stock information.

to skim / is to read quickly and a bit lazily – you dont want to read the whole article word for word so you just skim it

e.g. Did you read the news today? Not really I just skimmed through it.

Grammar

“THE” is used for one very specific “city” …”a” is used for any city. 

Don’t say the subject of the sentence two times

e.g. Everyone who lives in this world they must use money.

I’m more respect him because I didn’t see him before and I just know him just for some internet information. But after scanning (P) his story I don’t think he is very smart or he’s crazy but I think he is very brave because some of his environment protection ideas (P) are advanced and he choose a different lifestyle (P) with the people so I think not everyone have the courage to choose what they want to live especially when they have a good life basically.

I respect him more – actually I hadn’t seen him before – I learned about him while scanning the internet for information. But after reading his story I don’t think he is very smart or very crazy – I think he is very brave because some of his environmental protection ideas were very advanced – and he chose a different lifestyle than most people so I think most people don’t have this type of courage to choose how they want to live their life especially if their life is already comfortable. 

I don’t think I would become famous. Because if you are a celebrity you will P not have privacy when you face the public. It is very painful because not only you have to – you face the strange people including the netizens or some people you dont know but only your family and friends.  They may also have the chance to come from some discussion from the public.  I mean – I think a celebrity they don’t have privacy.

I don’t think I would want to become famous because if you are a celebrity you will not have any privacy when you are in public (versus “in private”). It is very painful because not only do you lose your privacy, but so will your friends and family. They also may become the subject of conversation among netizens. I think that celebrities don’t have any privacy.

It is very obvious because money can buy everything but emotion. Everyone live P in this world they must use money to buy something for living. But your physical life are not stable. Even though you use money it is unsure. and youre not – in china many family divorced quarreled with each others. The most important reason is money. I want to rent P travel hotel in the P second or third tier city in China – I lied P forest – the flower – the all natural sceneries – so if I have a chance – I will open a travel hotel beside the beach.

My answer is very obvious because money can buy you anything but happiness. Everyone who lives in this world must use money to live. Now just because you’re rich doesn’t mean your physical life/health will be stable. Even though you have money – this is still uncertain. In China, many families will divorce or quarrel with each other over money (“concerning money”)  – usually money is the number one reason for family conflict. I want to run a youth hostel in a second or third tier city in China – I like the forest – I like flowers – I like natural scenery – so If I have the chance – I will open a youth hostel beside the beach.
