surgery-外科手术

recover (v): 1-to become completely well again after an illness or injury:
E.g.: It took her a long time to recover from/after her heart operation.
E.g.: He never really recovered from the shock of his wife dying.

shock (n)-震惊 1-(the emotional or physical reaction to) a sudden, unexpected, and usually unpleasant event or experience:
E.g.: Her mother’s death came as a great shock – it was so unexpected.
E.g.: It was such a loud crash – it gave me/I got quite a shock.
E.g.: It was a shock to see her looking so ill.
E.g.: I was in (a state of) shock for about two weeks after the accident.

shock (v): 1-to offend or upset someone by doing or saying something that they consider is immoral or unacceptable:
E.g.: The advertisements were designed to shock – that was the whole point of the campaign.
E.g.: I think it shocks him to hear women talking about sex.

confused (adj): 1- unable to think clearly or to understand something:
E.g.: Grandpa gets pretty confused sometimes, and doesn’t even know what day it is.
E.g.: I’m a bit confused. Was that her husband or her son she was with?

confusion (n):1-混淆. 2-a situation in which people do not understand what is happening, what they should do or who someone or something is:
E.g.: There seems to be some confusion over who is actually giving the talk.
E.g.: To avoid confusion, the twins never wore the same clothes.
3-混乱-a situation, often with a lot of activity and noise, in which people do not know what to do:
E.g.: In the confusion after the bomb blast, I lost my bag and wasn’t able to stop and look for it.

confuse (v): 1- to mix up someone’s mind or ideas, or to make something difficult to understand:
E.g.: You’re confusing him! Tell him slowly and one thing at a time.
E.g.: Stop confusing the issue (= making the problem unnecessarily difficult)!
​2-to mix up two separate things or people in your mind, imagining that they are one:
E.g.: You’re confusing me with my sister – she’s the singer.
E.g.: It’s easy to confuse his films, because he tends to use the same actors.
