Vocabulary

libra (n): 1-the seventh sign of the zodiac, relating to the period 23 September to 22 October , represented by a pair of measuring scales, or a person born during this period

podcast (n): 1-a radio program that is stored in a digital form that you can download from the internet and play on a computer or on an MP3 player

swarm (n): 1- a large group of insects all moving together:
E.g.1: a swarm of bees/wasps/ants/locusts
E.g.1: The dead sheep was covered with swarms of flies.
​2-a large group of people all moving together:
E.g.2: A swarm of/Swarms of photographers followed the star’s car.

swarm (v): 1-When insects swarm, they come together in a large group.
​2-When people swarm somewhere, they move there in a large group or in large numbers:
E.g.2: During the summer, tourists swarm the little beachside town.

stunt (v): 1-to prevent the growth or development of something from reaching its limit:
E.g.: Drought has stunted (the growth of) this year’s cereal crop.

drought (n): 1-a long period when there is little or no rain:
E.g.: This year (a) severe drought has ruined the crops.

crop (n): 1- (the total amount collected of) a plant such as a grain, fruit, or vegetable grown in large amounts:
E.g.: The main crops grown for export are coffee and rice.
E.g.: After three crop failures in a row, the people face starvation.

staple (adj): 1-basic or main; standard or regular:
E.g.: The staple diet here is mutton, fish and boiled potatoes.
E.g.: Prices of staple foods such as wheat and vegetables have also been increasing.
