Vocabulary

Jovial – Bubbly; happy

eg. The Irish are a very jovial people.

Shallow – To have a surface level personality

eg. She judged people based on looks, she was very shallow.

Superficial – Same as shallow

Comprehend – To understand

eg. I had to explain it several times before he comprehended my meaning.

Neighborhood – The area you live

eg. My neighborhood has lots of little shops.

Magical Realism – Style of literature known for random surreal elements

eg. Murakami’s style could best be described as magical realism.

He was a nice people. — He was a nice person.

Some of European countries – Some European countries

Too long time — To long of a time

Open my view — Expand my worldview

Sometimes only used ‘I’ when the meaning is ‘I have’ or ‘I am’. Better to use the contractions instead (I’ve/I’m)

The ‘Th’ sound is pronounced as ‘D’ in some words.
