F2F Class Notes (Mark)

Most of time, I don’t really miss the life in Taiwan, I feel my life is better in Shanghai. Nice job, cozy apartment, fulled schedules and convenient transportation, it seems having all I need here. But sometimes I would thinking about my family and Taiwan snacks. We can have some Taiwan food here though, there is still few to choose. I can’t find authentic ginger duck soup at all in this city, and the vegetables don’t have their original smell strongly, because all the vegetables are using chemistry to make them grow fast or it’s earth’s issue I don’t know. Anyway it’s not an issue in Taiwan, if you ever try the vegetables from Taiwan, you will find what’s the original smell I mean, especially shallot.
Actually, what I miss the most is my mom’s cooking. She doesn’t cook well honestly, but it’s a familiar taste and I know she always give me the best.
Besides this, everything is just ok to me in Taiwan. Maybe because we’re sharing the same cultures with China and food is not so different, I don’t feel much missing anyway. In the other side, I think it’s because I was dreaming to work aboard all the time, it’s like dream come true now and I appreciate it.
I found my personality is easy to travel somewhere far away from home, I didn’t feel pain to leave my family. My sister is opposite of me, she can’t live without her boyfriend, old friends and our family. She is a sweet girl, I miss it when I had her by my side, we like to talk about many kinds of topics.
