We are waiting for the boss’s decision. When he says/has said yes, we can start.
Vocabulary
a correspondent (co = together, respond = answer) = 驻外记者
to and fro = forwards and backwards
unanimous = (un = 1, nimous = name) = in one name, with everyone agreeing
Everyone was unanimous: we needed to fire that bad worker.
So there was no to and fro, we unanimously decided to kick him out.
anonymous = (no = 0, nimous = name) 匿名
rough out = create a rough draft of a plan
While we are negotiating on the pay, let’s rough out a transitional work timetable.
