Usually, you can haggle for goods but you don’t haggle for services (hotels, restaurants, taxis, etc.)

Grammar

How about = …吧

How about we have dinner tonight? = Let’s have dinner tonight.

It’s not worth it 得不偿失

When you propose something, you can say “here” 这样吧···什么什么,好吗? (and use it with “deal?”)

Here, I’ll give you 200 RMB for it. Deal?

When you give something to someone, you can say “Here you go / Here you are”

Haggling

  • How much is this (thing) ?
  • It’s 200 RMB.
  • That’s a little expensive. Could you make it cheaper?
  • I can give it to you for 190 RMB
  • It’s still a little expensive. I’ll give you 80 RMB for it.
  • No, I can’t. I’m losing money this way. The best I can do is 180 RMB.
  • Let’s meet halfway at 130 RMB. Okay?
  • Let’s call it 150. Deal?
  • 140. I won’t go (any) higher.
  • Okay.
  • Good. Here you go/are (这给你 while handing the money)…. Oh, and how much for 2 of them?
  • 280 RMB
  • Hey, I’m buying 2. Give me a discount.
  • I already gave you a good price. I can’t go any lower.
  • Come on, I’m buying several items. Make an effort. I’ll take many if you give me a good price.
  • How about I give you 5 for 600 RMB?
  • I don’t need that many. I’ll take 2 for 250.
  • No, I’m sorry, I cant’ go any lower. It’s not worth it.
  • Okay, I’ll just take one then. Thanks
