F2F Class Notes (Kyle) (S)

I was excited about the Qingming Festival for a long time that I even started to make plans a month before the holidays. Although I knew the tourist attractions would be crowded, I still decided to travel. This was the first time I chose to travel during the national holidays, so I made an exception.

The destination of my trip was Wuxi where it’s located near Shanghai. The morning train tickets were sold out, so my husband told me that we could go there by car. This was the second mistake we made, because too many cars made a big traffic jam.

My original plan was to go to the suburbs of Wuxi but we changed our plan and first we stopped at the center of Wuxi which took us four hours to arrive to.  After a short rest we went to the suburbs of Wuxi, when we were so hungry so we could’t do anything but to find a restaurant. I used an app to find a famous restaurant and we were lucky to find one that had Wuxi’s signature dumplings.

There were two different types of dumplings, one type was filled with pork and the other type was filled with crab meat. We tried both of them and they were the best ones I’ve ever had and  much better than the Nan Xiang dumplings.

Do you think you will travel again during the National Holiday? 

No, I don’t think I will do it EVER again. We have saying in Chinese “People mountain people sea.”

Where do you recommend that I can go to in Xi’an?

If you want scary films, then you can stay at this terrible* hotel where the Terra Cotta Warriors can watch over you while you sleep! You know, I saw a movie about this once, when a TCW returns to life. He falls in love with a girl because the girls resembles his former lover.

Do you like watching scary movies? 

No I don’t like _____ because I will imagine something. When her Grandpa died, she can see a ghost, and she can see very well. So they invited a person to _______ (do an exorcism) to make the ghost go away.

ex. In the countryside,  you can find some people who are exorcists. They tell spirits to go away.

ex. He returns to life because he saw a girl just like his loved one.

ex. I saw a boy in the railway Metro Station who resembles a star/famous person.
