Here’s the story about Gamestop

Gamestop is a physical store in US, which is know as for selling Xbox and game related software. Due to pandemic hitting the globally, lots of physical stores were shut down during 2020. Gamestop was trying to focus more on digital and looking to turn their business model around. After hitting a low of 2.8 dollar in 2020, share price of gamestop surged to a high of 76.76 dollar in several days. This quick movement make some individual investors became millionaires, of course vice versa, it also made some millionaires, who short the share price of gamestop, lost huge amount of money.
This situation would not happen in China stock market. As we have limitation/ ceiling on each stock price, that is 10% of the price. If the stock price goes up or down exceeded 10%, it would be compulsively stop to dealing in few days in the market.
