military – the group that protects your country, includes army, navy, air force

eg: “I was going to join the military, but I went to college instead.”

stir – to move some stuff around so that it’s all mixed together

eg: “I can cook a lot of stir-fry dishes.”

Curry – a spicy kind of sauce, with many styles, used in many countries

eg: “I like curry, but I don’t like Thai food.”

mellow – very relaxed and easy going

eg: “I really like mellow music.”


Genres of Music

Pop – very popular and upbeat

Indie – independent, usually a more unique style of rock

Rock – a hard and fast style of music

Hip hop – music that uses a lot of rhyming with a good beat

Jazz – with lively rhythms and melodies that are often made up by musicians as they play

Electronic – music created using computer programs

Blues – a sad down tempo music

R&B – Rhythm and Blues, usually romantic songs
