You always use NOT with one of the following words;

  • be 是
  • do 做
  • have （没）做
  • can 能
  • will  将
  • should 应该
  • must 应该

“I not” is ALWAYS WRONG –>

  • I am not (I’m not)
  • I do not (I don’t) 
  • I have not (I haven’t)
  • I cannot (I can’t) 
  • I will not (I won’t) 
  • I should not (I shouldn’t) 
  • I must not (I mustn’t)

I am not a guy.

I don’t like bananas.

I haven’t finished the class.

I can’t ride a motorcycle

I won’t go to Japan next summer.

I shouldn’t yell at my friends.

I mustn’t wear too little, it’s cold outside.
