vacation days: days off from work that your company will give you.
ex: I will take 5 extra vacation days.
most people go their home town – most people will go to their home town
are other cities – they are from other cities
custom: something that is traditional to do for certain events.
ex: It is a custom to eat dumplings on new years eve.
for the died people – for the people that have died
salt (sawlt)
province: a division, or a part of a country.
ex: There are many different provinces in China.
new years eve: the last day of the year.
ex: On new years eve, we must eat dumplings.
These days we were all preparing to finish this year’s work and would go home for New Years that our biggest festival. This is a longest holiday around all the year so we will go home with our family for this festival. Nowadays more and more people choose to travel during the holiday result in a lot of old parents will celebrate New Years lonely. They think that they give their parents a lot of money that it’s great. However parents really need accompany not money. I think they are very poor who can’t spend time with their children on the important festival. We offspring should spend more time with our family and give more worm to them because the time is very short that we can spend with them.
Spring Festival
These days we are all preparing to finish this year’s work and will go home for New Years, which is our biggest festival. This is the longest holiday all year, so we will go home to be with our family for this festival. Nowadays more and more people choose to travel during the holiday resulting in a lot of old parents celebrating New Years alone. They think that they give their parents a lot of money and that it’s enough. However parents really need company, not money. I think they are very sad, those who can’t spend time with their children during the important festival. We offspring should spend more time with our family and give them more care because the time that we can spend with them is very short.

ex: I will accompany Grace to the opera.
