Central:  the center area of a city/country/province.

Eg.  Bangkok is in central Thailand.

I stayed that island for two days – I stayed on that island for two days.  / We stayed at a hotel.

 

What was your favorite part?

The southern islandMy favorite part of this trip was the southern island because the scenery was very beautiful.

Floaty/ inner tube/ flotation device:  something filled with air to float on in water.

Eg.   If you go into water you should bring a floaty.

Scuba diving:  diving underwater with a tank of oxygen and a face mask.

Eg.  When I go scuba diving I can see a lot of kinds of fish.

Snorkeling:  is swimming in water with a snorkel on to breathe out of.

Eg.  Snorkeling is cheaper than scuba diving.

Eg.  The snorkel helps you to breathe under water.

Most of Thailand food are seafoodMost of Thailand’s food/ Most Thai food is seafood.

Oysters:  a sea animal with two shells, good to eat fresh.

Eg.  Korean people always eat uncooked oysters.

Mung bean jelly: Sichuan dish made with noodles made form mung bean.

Hostel:  a cheaper version of a hotel, sometimes they have dorm rooms – so you sleep with strangers maybe.

Eg.  Hostels are cheaper than hotels.

Buffet (buff – ay):  food that is on tables and you serve yourself.

Eg.  I like eating from a buffet because I can eat a lot. / Or I can eat a lot of different food.

Waffle:  type of breakfast food that is cooked in an iron with large squares in it.

Eg.  Prepared to waffles, I like  – Compared to waffles, I like wheat bread more. 

 

Vegetable oil:  liquid version of cooking oil.

Eg.  Chinese often use vegetable oil to cook food.

Butter:  solid/ semi-solid version of oil.  – good on bread.

Eg.  Foreigners always like butter on their bread.

Butter can let you fat – If you eat a lot of butter you will become fat.
