The medicine given before the surgery wasn’t operation well this time – The numbing medicine wasn’t enough/ The doctor didn’t give me enough numbing medicine/  The numbing didn’t work as well this time.

Avoid the feeling of hurt – numb

Needle:  an instrument used to poke into skin and deliver medicine/ to draw blood.

Stitches: when you cut your body somewhere and need to get it sewn up with a needle and thread.

Accident prone:  a person who is always hurting themselves.

Lively:  something that is full of life and energy.

Ex:  You had a lively childhood.

Scar: a mark in the skin from an accident or a cut.

“A child who is lucky and owns all of the happiness, would have a scar near his eyes” – A child who is lucky and owns all the happiness, might have a scar near their eye.

The children who are lucky and own all the happiness, might have scars near their eyes.

Storytelling:

I think my childhood was simple, I was born in a big yard and lived with my parents.  My neighbourhood were my fathers colleagues and their families mostly.  And I didn’t have a lot of homework to do, so that I could play with my childhood children anytime if I wanted.  The yard was big so we had a lot of place to play.  For example we can, there was a big basketball ground and we could do some sports there.  And when it was raining there was some little pools and sometimes we could find some frogs babies there.  Sometimes we brought some of the eggs back and raised them, but always failed.  NO one became a frogs at last.  And there were also many fruit trees (pro.) in the yard , so we could climb up and got some little fruits which were beautiful but not delicious.  They were sour.  I really miss my childhood and sometimes we try to grow some plants, but failed again.  It seems like we didn’t accomplish anything, but childhood is like this I think.

Sour:  when a food is not sweet, and a little bitter.

Puddle: a small pool of water left from the rain.
