Review:

 

Character – a personality, a person in a story
Ex. There are lots of characters in my favourite TV show but I don’t like most of them
Ex. Who is the main character in the book?

 

weak = not strong

 

strong:  something with muscles, or who has strength.   Something with a lot of flavour.

Ex:  This tea is really weak.  (no flavour)

This tea is really strong (lots of flavour)

Ex:  The man is very strong.  The boy is very weak.

Family:

Strict:  a lot of rules to follow.

Were your parents very strict?    =  Did your parents have a lot of rules that you needed to follow?

Your friends and you have a part of personality is the same – Your friends and you have similar personalities

Did any of your friends have parents that were strict?

Cousin (cuz – in):  your aunt or uncles children

We don’t always contactwe don’t keep in contact/ we don’t talk a lot

 

We don’t have same city – we don’t stay live in the same city

 

Stay:  temporary, for a short time.

Ex:  I will stay at a hotel

 

Live:  more permanent

Ex:  I live in Shanghai.

Grandparents: grandmother and grandfather/grandma and grandpa

Great grandparents:   great grandmother/ great grandfather

  • Your grandparents parents

We don’t have blood releationship – we aren’t blood relatives

To fix it yourself/to deal with it yourself/ solve it by myself

Solve:  to answer a problem.  OR to find the the answer to a problem.

Ex: I must solve the math problems.

Ex:  I solved the question by myself.

Grade:  a score

Ex:  I got a bad grade on the math test, I failed it.

Ex:  Chinese students usually get good grades, but they don’t have a good imagination.
