doomed inevitable destruction or ruin

doomed+ negative word or end the sentence with doomed

eg. The current President of the US might doom us all. (knock on wood)

knock on wood-to wish something doesn’t happen by literally knocking on wood for safe precaution

eg. I hope I get a good grade on the test knock on wood.

stick up– to stand up for yourself or someone else

eg. The person who stuck up for me as a kid eventually became my best friend.

stand up/stick up/stand behind someone– to speak up for someone or something

Rastafari– a Black youth subculture and religious movement that arose in the ghettos of Kingston, Jamaica, in the 1950s; males grow hair in long dreadlocks and wear woolen caps; use marijuana and listen toreggae music, refrain from eating meat

Bob Marley was a Rastafari.

bounce an idea off someone-get advice from someone else, getting input from other people

eg. You can bounce your ideas off of him when he gets here.

eg. They bounced their ideas off the boss in the meeting.

I had an accident on my bicycle.

blown away– really impressed, shocked

eg. I was blown away that her cheesecake didn’t have any dairy in it.

hot chick– really attractive girl

eg. There were a bunch of hot chicks at the party last night
