Vocabulary

dresser – furniture with drawers to keep clothes in

eg: “I keep some socks and underwear in the dresser.”

wardrobe – can hang clothes up inside it

eg: “I hang some skirts and dresses in the wardrobe.”

closet – a place to keep clothes or store other things, built into the wall

eg: “I keep my son’s clothes in the closet.”

pot – a container with an open top, used for cooking or keeping plants

eg: Boil some water in the pot.

chopsticks – kuai zi

department store – a store with many kinds of different products, a large retail store carrying a wide variety of merchandise and organized into various departments for sales and administrative purposes.

eg: Muji is like a mini-department store.

eg: Carrefour is like a supermarket and a department store.

Wal-mart is a supermarket and a department store.      It’s an all-in-one shopping stop.
