Vocabulary
Compulsive – having traits of a perfectionist, but to an impractical degree
Ex. My mother is so compulsive that after checking if she locked the door five times, she still calls me ans asks me to check again.
Pin – a password or number that is used to access something
Ex. Every time you go to the bank, the ATM asks for your pin before you can withdraw any money.
Zoom – to bring closer or farther out of focus
Ex. Some cameras can zoom so far that you can see the surface of the moon.
Glitch – a technical error
Ex. I’ve only had my computer for two years, but it often glitches so bad that I have to restart it just so it can function normally.
Cord – wire or string
Ex. I often have to charge my phone while I’m at work, but because carrying a charging cord can be a hassle, I bought an extendable charging cord that rolls up by itself.
Ex. When there are too many devices that need to be plugged in to the same outlet/plug, most people use an extension cord.
Vapor – the gas form of a liquid
Ex. Water vapor and steam share the same meaning.
Ex. In order to stop smoking, many people switch to using a vapor pen because it feels similar to smoking.
Nicotine – the addictive chemical found in tobacco
Ex. If people are highly addicted to nicotine, they can buy vapor pen juice that contains nicotine in it.
Shisha – a traditional Middle-Eastern smoking pipe that uses water to filter the smoke
Ex. Although Shisha is less addictive then cigarettes, it is also unhealthy.
Weed – an unwanted plant that grows in gardens
Ex. Gardeners often spend a large part of their day picking weeds out of their gardens.
