Vocabulary

to get food delivered – 外卖

e.g. I don’t usually cook anymore, I always get food delivered.

moist – wet

e.g. Today, the air was very moist in Shanghai.

subjects (school) – 学科 the different types of classes you can have

e.g. English and history were my favorite subjects in school. \

to praise someone – to say something nice about someone

e.g. I praised Cynthia on her ability to pick out nice sweaters.

minty – 清凉, refreshing, mint-flavored,

e.g. I love minty candy.

exercises or problems – 问题 problems you have to solve in order to learn something, usually in school

e.g. Everyone has to finish their math exercises by tomorrow!

liberal arts – 文科

e.g. Philosophy, history and English are all subjects that are typically taught in liberal arts schools.

debate – discussion, when two people make opposing arguments on a subject  

e.g. We were debating whether or not Chinese is a difficult language to study.
