eg. the words kaixing and gaoxing are interchangable

freelance – to work for yourself / self employed

as well as / also
eg. you work for yourself as well as working for your company

cash in hand – when you get paid in cash rather than via an official bank transfer

don’t correct yourself, continue the sentence and make a new one (“what I mean is” / “I guess my point is” / rearrange the sentence)
use “i think” or “i guess” when you’re thinking 

dark colors makes me, dark colors make me. – dark colors makes me, well I guess they make me ….
