Vocabulary


Fit – can be used as a transitive verb

Ex. We could not fit everything into a regular taxi.

Haul – to carry something heavy (verb)

Rental – something rented

Capital/Uppercase Letters – CAPITAL/UPPERCASE LETTERS

Lowercase letters – NOT THESE (ABC), but these (abc)

Escape – to leave somewhere you are trapped

Hone – verb, to perfect (usually used for skills)

Ex. I practice piano every day to hone my musical skills.

Grammar


The word stuff has no plural form.

The word present, when used as a verb, means “to show” not “to give as a present.”

Phrases


The response to “what’s up” is normally “not much, you” or “nothing much, you?”

To fill something up means to fill something completely.

The phrase hand-me-down describes something second-hand (noun only).

Ex. The clothes are hand-me-downs.
