Vocabulary

I suppose – to think that, to believe to be possible

eg: “I suppose you could go work in Bangkok, but the salary is much lower.”

supposed to – something that should happen

“I am supposed to go to work early tomorrow.” “Tom was supposed to steal the car.” (tom didn’t steal the car yet)

“Tom was supposed to steal the car.”

Grammar

Agree to their terms,

agree to – (do something)

eg: He agreed to go to my wedding.

negotiate the terms of the deal


Use I Thought: to show when we were wrong about something.

eg: “I think it will rain today.”  (It will probably rain.)

eg: “I thought it was going to rain today.”     (It didn’t rain today.)

eg: “I suppose it will rain today.” (I think it will probably rain today.)

eg: “It was supposed to rain today.” (People thought it would rain, but it didn’t or hasn’t yet)
