Hot pot is a big pot, have a lot of soup, can add lots of food. For example, noodles, meat, vegetable, fish, etc. 

Hot pot is a Chinese dish, which is basically a big pot, filled with soup, in which you can put any type of food.

Vocabulary

to be filled with (v) – it means that something, such as a pot, is completely full with soup, or a bottle that is full with watter

e.g. The pot was filled with soup.

e.g. The metro was filled with people.

simply – 只是

basically – 大体

e.g. A bag basically carries books and my other stuff. = A bag is something I basically/simply said use to carry my stuff.

Say/said/said – 说

The books say a person should always listen to his parents. – a fact

The book I read (red), said that everyone should go to Paris at least once in their life. – something you saw somewhere

McDonald’s is, simply said, a place where you can eat burgers. – you use “simply said” because burgers are not the only thing McDonald’s has, it also has fries, nuggets, salads, etc.

Is there anything else you don’t understand? –  It means that a person is asking if there is something you don’t understand, apart from the thing you were talking about at that moment.
