Vocabulary

Co-worker (n): 1- colleague.
E.g.: I had dinner with my co-workers last night.

Assurance (n): 1- a positive declaration intended to give confidence; a promise.
E.g.: He gave an assurance that work would begin on Monday.

Counterpart (n): 1- a person or thing that has the same purpose as another one in a different place or organization:
E.g.: The prime minister is to meet his European counterparts to discuss the war against drugs.

Interact (v): 1- to communicate with or react to:
E.g.: Dominique’s teacher says that she interacts well with the other children.

Interactive (adj): 1- An interactive system or computer program is designed to involve the user in the exchange of information.
E.g.: This is an interactive museum where children can actively manipulate the exhibits.

Qualified (adj): 1- having finished a training course, or having particular skills, etc.:
E.g.: Tim is now a qualified architect.

Workforce (n): 1- the group of people who work in a company, industry, country, etc..
E.g.: The majority of factories in the region have a workforce of 50 to 100 people.

Nepotism (n): 1- the act of using your power or influence to get good jobs or unfair advantages for members of your own family.
E.g.: He was guilty of nepotism and corruption.

Infrastructure (n): 1- the basic systems and services, such as transport and power supplies, that a country or organization uses in order to work effectively.
E.g.: The war has badly damaged the country’s infrastructure.
