have / don’t have + noun
eg. i don’t have an apple and I haven’t got an apple are the same thing.

useful + effective / meaningful / fulfilling
useless / pointless / ineffective / waste of time
this meeting is very useful / a good use of time / incredibly meaningful / really good for me

can I / may I / could I / i’d like to / i want 

give me > i want = direct
can i have > could i have > i would like / may I have = indirect / polite
do you have latte? we’ll take 2
