Vocabulary

He’s all over the place – He’s everywhere, he moves a lot and does a lot of things

e.g. During his shows, Conan is always all over the place.

Asset – a useful or valuable thing or person

e.g. Allison is an asset for her boss.

Ward off – fight off

e.g. Mosquito spray wards off the mosquitoes.

Compound – the chemical component

e.g. There’s a compound in cabbage that wards off aging.

Rejuvenate – to restore to a former state, to make young again

e.g. A lot of wrinkle creams say that they’ll completely rejuvenate your face.

Replenish – to make full again, to fill again, to resupply

e.g. If the stock of something is empty, it’s important that we replenish it.

Deteriorate – to make something worse

e.g. If Tanya doesn’t find a good Chinese teacher, her Chinese will deteriorate.
