i think my vocabulary is worse – I think my vocabulary is bad  (if you say worse you have to say

gap year –  when you spend one (or several) years in between e.g. High school and university. = you do something else before going to University, a lot of people choose to work for a year or travel.

Obamas daughter does not want to go straight from high school to university, she plans to take a gap year and do something else while figurering out what she wants to do with her life.

we go to straight university  – we go straight to university, or straight to work, after high school in China
