Vocabulary
Saturate (v): 1- to fill a thing or place completely so that no more can be added.
E.g.: The police saturated the area. (= a large number of police officers were sent into)
Monastery (n): 1- a building in which monks live and worship
E.g.: Theres a monastery at the top of Mont Saint-Michel, in France.
Famine (n): 1- a situation in which there is not enough food for a great number of people, causing illness and death, or a particular period when this happens.
E.g.: Another crop failure could result in widespread famine.
Arbitrary (adj): 1- based on chance rather than being planned or based on reason.
E.g.: Did you have a reason for choosing your destination or was it arbitrary?
Nomad (n): 1- a member of a group of people who move from one place to another rather than living in one place all of the time.
E.g.: They spent a month living with a tribe of Somalian desert nomads.
Guideline (n): 1- information intended to advise people on how something should be done or what something should be:
E.g.: The EU has issued guidelines on appropriate levels of pay for part-time manual workers.
