Vocabulary

divert – to change the course of something to a different direction
eg: The dam can divert flood waters away from the city.
valley – a large bowl shaped geography
eg: Chengdu is located in a valley.
tributary – a branch or arm that adds to a larger river
eg: They diverted only the tributaries they needed.
preserve (N.)(V.) – a safe place for wild animals, to keep something the same way.
eg: We need to preserve giant pandas so we made them a preserve to keep them safe.
sleight of hand – using your hands to hide objects or do things secretly
Grammar
V. + V. + ING = Go skiing. They will come looking for you.
V. + to + V. = He agreed to sign the contract
He will come here to fix the fridge.
If there is not two verbs, you usually don’t need to after the first verb.
