Summary-Does a College Education Help All People Equally?

People pay attention to education, because they think high education is a main way to be successful. Also, education gives everyone equal chances and opportunities for success.

As a research by Stanford University showed the same result. 60% people from the lowest income families earned as much as who from high income families 10 years after they graduated from “Ivy League” colleges, which are top universities in U.S.. However, high cost of entering Ivy League is a barrier for a lot of families.

On the other hand, the research also showed that not only Ivy League, people from lowest income families and graduated from selective universities, like The State University of New York, can step into the rich group, too.

Compared with people from low income families, people from richer families are more likely to be successful because of their parents’ “connections”, who can provide good opportunities to join in a great company, which no education can achieve.

However, for some people, there are alternatives. Many high high tech companies and manufactures do not require high education, but most parent’s don’t want their children to work in labor force field.

Education is a main way to success in society, but not the only way. Education is absolutely equitable? I don’t think so. People from richer families can gain high education more easily.

Summary- Does a College Education Help All People Equally?

People pay attention to education, because they think high education is the main way to be successful. Education also gives everyone equal chances and opportunities for success.

Research by Stanford University showed the same result. 60% of people from the lowest income families earned as much as those from high income families, 10 years after they graduated from “Ivy League” colleges. Which are top universities in the U.S.. However, the high cost of entering Ivy League is a barrier for a lot of families.

On the other hand, the research also showed that not only Ivy League graduates, but also people from the lowest income families who graduated from certain universities, like The State University of New York, can step into the rich group too.

Compared with people from low income families, people from richer families are more likely to be successful because of their parents’ “connections”, which can provide good opportunities to join a great company, which no education can achieve. This kind of nepotism usually can’t be earned through education.

However, for some people, there are alternatives. Many tech companies and manufactures do not require high education, but most parent’s don’t want their children to work in the labor force.

Education is the main way to success in society, but not the only way. Is education absolutely equitable? I don’t think so. People from richer families can obtain high education more easily.
