F2F Class Notes 26th August (Jesse)

Rio Olympics which had been lasted for 16 days was closed. For most Chinese people, this game which is held every 4 years is a festival. We pay so much attention and passion on it and I used to think this passion covers all over the world. However, the more foreigners I get to know the clearer I know my thought is wrong because a lot of westerners don’t watch Olympics at all.
An interesting phenomenon in China is that people like watching sport games more than participating in them. Although Chinese teams always do a good job at Olympics, sports that are popularized among citizens are very limited. I guess one major reason why Chinese people put so much enthusiasm on Olympics is that we enjoy the moment when a Chinese athletes stand on the top of the medals podium and the national song sounds. We love this moment of national glory.
