Write a paragraph using some of the words you’ve learned today.

Vocabulary

Customary (adj): 1-  usual. 2- traditional.
E.g.: She’s not her customary cheerful self today.
E.g.: In my village, it is customary for a girl to take her mother’s name.

Rapport (n): 1- a good understanding of someone and an ability to communicate well with them.
E.g.: We’d worked together for years and developed a close rapport.

Proportion (n): 1- the size, shape, or level of something. (adj: Proportional / adv: Proportionately )
E.g.: I’m not very good at drawing people – I can never get the proportions right.

Distort (v): 1- to change something from its usual, original, natural, or intended meaning, condition, or shape:
E.g.: My original statement has been completely distorted by the media.

Fuzzy (adj): 1- (of an image) having shapes that do not have clear edges, or (of a sound, especially from a television, radio, etc.) not clear, usually because of other unwanted noises making it difficult to hear. 2- not clear.
E.g.: Is the picture always fuzzy on your TV?
E.g.: You can pick up a lot of stations on the car radio but the sound is usually sort of fuzzy.
E.g.: The basic facts of the story are starting to emerge though the details are still fuzzy.

Blur (n): 1- something that you cannot see clearly.(adj: Blurry)
E.g.: If I don’t wear my glasses, everything is just a blur.

Emerge (v): 1- to appear by coming out of something or out from behind something. 2- to become known, especially as a result of examining something or asking questions about it.
E.g.: She emerged from the sea, blue with cold.
E.g.: The facts behind the scandal are sure to emerge eventually.

Feminism (n): 1- the belief that women should be allowed the same rights, power, and opportunities as men and be treated in the same way, or the set of activities intended to achieve this state. 2- 女权主义
E.g.: She had a lifelong commitment to feminism

Shift (n/v): 1- to change.
E.g.: Society’s attitudes towards women have shifted enormously over the last century.

Come about (v): 1- to happen, or start to happen.
E.g.: How did the problem come about in the first place?

Accomplishment (n): 1- something that is successful, or that is achieved after a lot of work or effort. 2- the finishing of something.
E.g.: Women’s History Month celebrates women’s accomplishments throughout American History.
E.g.: We celebrated the successful accomplishment of our task.

Inspire (v): 1- to make someone feel that they want to do something and can do it. 2- to make someone have a particular strong feeling or reaction. 3- to give someone an idea for a book, film, product, etc.:
E.g.: His confident leadership inspired his followers.
E.g.: She inspires great loyalty among her followers.
E.g.: The design of the car has inspired many imitations.

Dwindle (v): 1- to become smaller in size or amount, or fewer in number; decline; drop; shrink.
E.g.: The community has dwindled to a tenth of its former size in the last two years.

Pioneer (n): 1- a person who is one of the first people to do something:
E.g.: He was one of the pioneers of modern science

“Regarding the samples, I’ve noticed that the logo looks distorted. When resizing the image, please make sure you scale it proportionately.”

“Stitches must be flat, neat and tight. Workers must make sure the fabric isn’t wrinkled and that the stitching is done in the most professional manner.”
