From my point of view, Chinese traditional wedding ceremony is pretty complicated and annoying. There are a lot of steps in the ceremony. As I mentioned in the previous class, Nao Don Fang is the last step of the wedding ceremony. I searched relevant information online, but there isn’t a confirmed explanation about its origin. As the history recorded, this wedding custom has a very long history. It might be more than 1500 years.

In ancient China, girls weren’t allowed to leave their own room until they got married. Their marriage were entirely controlled by their parents. Their parents made decisions who they could be married. Furthermore, before the wedding ceremony, they were forbidden to meet their fiancé. So they had no ideas about the men whom they would spend whole life with. It was an horrible thing.
They met their husband at the wedding ceremony night it called Don Fang Ye. At that night, the bride were asked to do/play a lot of sex games. It was awful. Even if the bride were asked to get naked, there is an explanation I saw online, this kind of action/movement was a sex education for the bride before they had sexy behaviors with their husband.
