Vocabulary

Forecasters – people that plan and predict the future (e.g. Forecasters predict that next week’s weather will be sunny.)

Retail – when you can buy things from shops /online retail – buying that happens online only.

Decade – 10 years (e.g. I will be 33 in a decade.)

Scenario – situation (e.g. Worst-case scenario I will lose my job and go to jail.)

Penetration (business definition) – how popular something is in a market

Categories – the different section (e.g. My business sell three different product categories. One is dog treats, the other dog toys, and finally dog houses.)

Prediction – to use research to make a guess at what will happen in the future (e.g. I predict that in 5 years England will be under water.)

Enable – can do something (e.g. Fast economic growth enabled China to become the second largest economy in the world.)

Entirely – 全部 (totally)

Comprehend – to understand (e.g. I can’t comprehend why there is so much pollution today.)

Counterfeit – 假的东西

Capitalise – to make money from something (e.g. China capitalised on cheap labour cost in order to grow their economy quickly.)

Lucrative – something that makes a lot of money (e.g. Italian leather is a very lucrative business because people from all over the world love to buy it.)
