F2F Class Notes 22nd May (Jesse) – important words

Today I woke up at 10oclock then after 1 hour i ate breakfast which was very tasty. Then I took a/the bus to come to smart english because I study English. When I arrived at SE, Gloria told me “wait for Jesse for 10 minutes”, and then Jesse arrived / came in and he taught me a lot of important words which I think are a little difficult but I want to remember them.

want to talk – verb + to + verb 

dao is different to qu? 

what’s the difference? (you shenme qu bie?)

eg. what’s the difference between simple and complex? 

simple (jian dan) < > complex (fu za) 

past (guo qu) < > future (jiang lai) 

verb (dong ci) < > noun (ming ci) 

add a word (jia yi ge dan ci) 

I’m fine = a little bad

how are you? / how’s it going? / how’ve you been? / what’s up? 

pretty good / quite good / good + thanks 

and you? / how about you? / what about you? / you? 

today i will teach you some really important words

important: zhong yao 

important < > not important 

opposite – fan yi ci 

eg. big is the opposite of small 

black < > white 

eg. black is the opposite of white 

different (bu yi yang) < > same (yi yang)

eg. this is very different 

I than you tall – I am taller than you 

this is (much / a little) bigger than that 

i am a little older than you / i am much older than you 

difficult < >  easy 

taller = bi jiao gao

tallest = zui gao 

happiest 

most difficult < > easiest 

more difficult < > easier
