Vocabulary

extracurricular – outside of normal studies

eg: “Extracurricular activities are valued by American Colleges.”

curriculum N. – everything that you will study in school

eg: “The curriculum was designed to help advanced students.”

syllabus – the class study plan

eg: “Teachers usually give you the syllabus on the first day of class.”

Geometry – the study of shapes

eg: “Geometry is the basic study of shapes.”

Calculus – an advanced branch of mathematics that deals mostly with rates of change and with finding lengths, areas, and volumes

contagious – able to spread the cold, sickness, disease

eg: “I’m not contagious anymore, so you won’t get sick.”

ache – a kind of pain, slow and persistent

eg: “I have headache.” “My whole body aches.”

fugitive N. – a person wanted by the law, an outlaw

eg: “They tried to catch the fugitives before 30 days.”

elude V. – to get away from, or to avoid

eg: “Only two teams eluded capture.”

disguise N. – something you wear to change your appearance

eg: “He wore a really cheap disguise, it didn’t fool anybody.”

triangulate – to use three points of location to find a central signal

eg: “Did they triangulate the signal.”

snitch V. N. – to tell authorities about a person who is breaking a rule or law.

eg: “Criminals often say, snitches get stitches.”

Grammar

Use do for Verbs:               I don’t often get sick

Use Be for ADJ. and VERB+ING and NOUN     I am excited.    We are going camping    I am the boss.
