Vocabulary

Comfort Zone (n): 1- a situation in which you feel comfortable and in which your ability and determination are not being tested.
E.g.: Rock climbing pushes many people beyond their comfort zones.

Insulting (adj): 1- rude or offensive.
E.g.: You can’t offer such a low salary to someone who is so highly skilled – it’s insulting.

Colony (n): 1- a country or area controlled politically by a more powerful country that is often far away.
E.g.: Australia and New Zealand are former British colonies.

Offend (v): 1- to make someone upset or angry.
E.g.: I think she was offended that she hadn’t been invited to the party.

Rehearse (v): 1- to practice a play, a piece of music, etc. in order to prepare it for public performance. (n: Rehearsal)
E.g.: The musicians rehearsed (the symphony) for the concert.

Yell (v): 1- to shout something or make a loud noise, usually when you are angry, in pain, or excited:
E.g.: Our neighbors were yelling (obscenities) at each other this morning.
