F2F Class Notes 21st June (Harmony)[2]

I have a meeting in 3 minutes = 3 minutes until the meeting starts.

Storytelling:

I was born in very very small town its called Shangri – la in Yunnan.  It’s very small but I think but I have a very wonderful childhood In my hometown because there’s lots of trees and rivers.  So in the summer I like to pick up some berries with my friends and I have a young brother, in china it’s not normal, in my generation because of the one child policy.  We get along well.  He just graduated from University.  The landscape like Switzerland, the landscape like Tibet.  So our nationality is Tibet.  A lot of snow mountains, we start snowing on October until March.

Once the time the snow is very heavy so we couldn’t get out and we don’t have enough food in our home.  So my parents they tried to cook some food for us with the limited food, so it’s not the food we used to eat.  So it’s kind of creative food, it was pretty funny.  The snowstorm lasted one week.  Because my hometown is very small so I was moved to Kunming to get better education, because you know the small towns don’t have a good school.  So my parents decided to send me to Kunming, I spent 6 years in Kunming for senior school.  Then I went to University in —– after graduation I decided to learn something about events.  So I had one year, kind of gap year, others peoples gap years are about travelling.  Mine was about learning English.  So I went to the UK to achieve my masters degree.

Highchair:  a chair for a baby/child to eat in.  Usually has a seatbelt and a tray.

Booster seat:  to lift the kid higher up to the table, it sits on a normal chair.

Bus boy/girl:  the person who’s job it is to clean the tables after people finish eating.

Eg.  May I reserve a table for 4 people at 9pm?

Eg.  I have a reservation for 4 people at 9pm, I would like to change it to 10pm.

Host/hostess:  the person who greets you at the restaurant.

“Can I take you for dinner?”, “can I buy you dinner?”

A round of drinks:  one drink for each person.

bar table/bar stools:  furniture that is higher up, you can stand at it.

She’s very like Chinese food – she really likes Chinese food
