F2F Class Notes 20th June (Harmony)

We met in our teenage years/ when we were teenagers and it was in high school.  Actually she skipped one year from grade 3 to grade 5, she was very smart. We were in the same class, and she was sitting behind me. Actually I can’t remember exactly when we got close, anyway we became best friends.  We had similar characters/characteristics/personalities, we were both generous and had good etiquette.  We respected others, and respected each other.  /We respected each other, as well as others.

We were in different classes after grade 5.  But we had so many topics to talk about every day so we wrote an exchange diary, we took one book and kept it as our secret diary.  I kept it for one or two days and wrote some secrets or something that I felt too embarrassed to tell to her face.

We were in the same high school for three years, and afterwards there were around 9 diaries. I passed the examination for university and she failed.  We met the day before I left for university and we burned all the diaries because we didn’t know how to deal with/store them. There was no way to lock them so we thought it’s not safe to keep them in our home.  They were too heavy to bring along with me, so we burned them.

We had no cell phones during our high school, but I got one in university but we still had no way to connect to each other, so we chose to write letters.  Actually we could use email but she was so busy with her studying, because she had to prepare for her university examination.  After one year she passed the examination.  I was in the north east part of China, and her university was in south.  We were separated by such a long distance.

After we graduated we met in a city.  5-6 years ago around 2010 we met here and were roommates.  after 3 years I moved into the same company where she was working and we were colleagues for 2 years. Now she moved again to another company and had a lot of progress in her career.  she got married and she is a very responsible wife, she has to cook dinner for her husband every day.  So we don’t have so much time to see each other to hang out, only chat through wechat and sometimes we just go out with some other friends to have a happy time.

Assigned:  to be put in a certain class with a certain teacher.

Re-signed: to sign again

Resigned:  to resign/ to quit.

We haven’t thought about he will be back – we didn’t think he would be back/would come back

Improvement – promotion

The only one who can promoted in this year – the only one who would get/can get/can be promoted this year.

Pickle:  a cucumber that has been pickled/ soaked in vinegar.

To make sth bearable:  to make something so that you can bear it/so that it’s not awful.
