weird– strange

eg. It’s weird that it still feels like living in a small town in  Shanghai.

eg. The buildings are weird in Shanghai.

make ends meet-to have enough money to pay for your basic expenses

eg. I’m barely making ends meet. I am hardly getting by.

eg. Every month I barely make ends meet.

Chinese character– Chinese word : ci yu

eg. The Chinese characters are difficult to learn and write.

A city proper is a locality defined according to legal or political boundaries and an administratively recognized urban status that is usually characterized by some form of local government. Cities proper and their boundaries and population data may not include suburbs.

I live in Jing’an. I live in the Jing’an area of Shanghai. I’m from Shanghai. I live in Shanghai.

I’m from one of the biggest cities in the world. The people are Shanghainese. It is a very international city. It’s modern. There are people from all over the world that live here. Pudong was built in 1993. Jing’an was built in 1860.
