Vocabulary

Overwhelmed (adj): 1- a strong mixture of feelings of nervousness and stress caused by having too much to do or too much on your mind or by the fear of a new experience or of a stressful situation.
E.g.: He felt overwhelmed with the responsibility.

Overworked (adj): 1- to (cause someone to) work too much.
E.g.: You look exhausted – I hope they’re not overworking you.

Lottery (n): 1- a game, often organized by the state or a charity in order to make money, in which tickets with numbers are sold to people who then have a chance of winning a prize if their number is chosen.
E.g.: He kept working even after he won the lottery.

Fundraising (n): 1- the act of collecting or producing money for a particular purpose, especially for a charity.
E.g.: The dinner is a fundraising event for the museum.

Donate (v): 1- to give money or goods to help a person or organization.
E.g.: An anonymous businesswoman donated one million dollars to the charity.

NGO = Non-Governmental Organization
