Vocabulary

Innovative (adj): 1- having the skill and imagination to create new things. 2- showing lots of new concepts and ideas.
E.g.: The company is very innovative and always creates very exciting products

Avant-Garde (adj): 1- something (usually in the arts) that is very new and innovative. 2- ahead of its time.
E.g.: A very avant-garde director,  he is responsible for one of the best films of the year.

Phonics (n): 1- a way of teaching people to read by correlating sounds with letters or groups of letters in an alphabetic writing system.
E.g.: Teaching phonics is especially difficult in English, since it has the most difficult spelling of any Western language.

Verb To Be – Present Tense

am – I am at school.
You are – You are a very tall person.
He is – He is playing computer games.
She is – She is drawing.
It is – I think it is a good idea to study at an international school
We are – We are having an English class.
You are – You are very tall people.
They are – They are playing basketball.

Verb To Be – Past Tense

was – I couldn’t speak English when I was 5 years old.
You were – Could you play basketball when you were 5?
He was – He was very afraid of ghosts.
She was – She was very shy when she was little, but now she is more outgoing.
It was – It was raining all day last Wednesday.
