Vocabulary

Neuroscience (n): 1- the scientific study of the nervous system and the brain.
E.g.: Thanks to advances in neuroscience, we now know that adult brains can grow and change.

Correlation (n): 1- a connection or relationship between two or more facts, numbers, etc.:
E.g.: There’s a correlation between smoking and cancer.

Theory (n): 1- a formal statement of the rules on which a subject of study is based or of ideas that are suggested to explain a fact or event or, more generally, an opinion or explanation.
E.g.: Darwin created the Theory of Evolution.

Improvise (v): 1- to invent or make something, such as a speech or a device, at the time when it is needed without already having planned it.
E.g.: I hadn’t prepared a speech so I suddenly had to improvise.

Interact (v): 1- to communicate with or react to:
E.g.: Her  teacher says that she interacts well with the other children.

Spectrum (n): 1- a range of different positions, opinions, etc. between two extreme points:
E.g.: He has support from across the whole political spectrum.

Approve (v): 1- to accept, allow, or officially agree to something.
E.g.: We had to wait months for the council to approve our plans to extend the house.

Prove (v): 1- to show that something is true.
E.g.: They suspected that she’d killed him but they could never actually prove that it was her.
