Q: How are you?

A: I’m _____ because _____. How are you doing? 

eg. I’m fine / good / ok / great / happy / hungry / angry / mad / thirsty / tired / sleepy / amazing / fantastic / wonderful because ______. How are you doing?

eg. I’m great because I slept well last night.  / I’m great because I got a lot of sleep last night. / I’m great because I had a restful, peaceful sleep last night.

so – so / just ok / not too bad, because there’s nothing new/ nothing new has happened

Q: How’s it going? = How’s your family / friends / work / personal life? / How are things in your life?

eg. Great! My dog is pregnant.

eg. Great! My aunt came to Shanghai this morning and we had a nice lunch just now!

Where is she from? She’s from HK.

How’d she get here? She took a train.

When? She arrived in SH this morning at 11:30.

Where did you go to lunch?  I invited my aunt and my mother to have lunch in an American Restaurant called Morganfield’s.
