My boyfriend, his friends and I went to Inner Mongolia for vacation  for/during National Day on October 1-8. (first to the eighth)

The first day we took a plane from Hongqiao Airport to Hohhot at 5:25pm and arrived at 8pm. Then we took a taxi to Anda Hotel which is a youth hostel. So the 6 of us slept in one room.

The second day we went on a tour. The tour was for 4 days and 3 nights, it took us to the grasslands first. We rode horses, did archery and picked up cow excrement/manure out in the grasslands which was used to make a fire for cooking, it was funny. Then we slept in a Mongolian yurt. The thing that shocked me the most was going pee in the grass because there are no toilets in the grasslands. Every time when we had to pee we needed to walk very far from the Mongolian yurt. It was really not convenient.

The third day we woke up very early and ate Mongolian breakfast, next we took a 6-hour bus ride to the desert. We rode camels to adventure and explore around the desert. After, we went to a small city, which is called Taoqi. So we got a hotel room and took showers. I felt so comfortable.
On the fourth day the tour just took us to visit a Mongolian museum and then we went back to Hohhot.
On the fifth day we took a bus for 2 hours to go to Shanxi where it has a shared boundary with Mongolia to visit the old Great Wall.
On the sixth day, we really liked the grasslands so we went to another grassland. We bought a whole sheep for 6 people for lunch. We paid 2100 RMB which was expensive. I thought this was so crazy of us. This sheep was very good, but I ate too much, now I don’t want to eat it ever again.

Next we took a night train from Hohhot to Yinchun.
On the seventh and eighth days we just visited Yinchun City and then took a plane to come back to Shanghai.
